Release of GCE ‘N’ Level 2018 Examinations Results

Dear Parents/ Guardians

The results of the 2018 Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education (GCE) Normal (Academic) [N(A)] and Normal (Technical) [N(T)] Level Examinations was released on 17 December 2018 (Monday).

The school has achieved a record-breaking, value-added improvement in this year’s GCE ‘N’ Level Examinations, as compared to 2017 and 2016! Application for Institute of Technical Education (ITE) Courses

Students who wish to apply for courses offered by the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) can submit their applications online via the ITE application portal (www.ite.edu.sg/wps/portal/intake/) upon collection of their results. Hard copy application forms will also be available at the Customer Service Centres at each of the three ITE Colleges.

Application for the Direct-Entry-Scheme to Polytechnic Programme (DPP)

The Direct-Entry-Scheme to Polytechnic Programme (DPP) prepares students for progression into selected polytechnic diploma courses via a two-year Higher Nitec course at ITE. Under the DPP, students who successfully complete their Higher Nitec course and attain the required minimum qualifying Higher Nitec Grade Point Average are guaranteed a place in a polytechnic diploma course mapped to their Higher Nitec course. Students eligible for the DPP will receive a copy of Form N from their secondary schools, inviting them to apply for the DPP.

Applications for the DPP can be submitted online via the ITE application portal between 2.30 PM on 17 December 2018, and 5.00 PM on 20 December 2018.

Release of DPP Posting Results and Acceptance of DPP Offers

The DPP posting results will be released at 9.00 AM on 24 December 2018. Students will be able to check the posting results online via the ITE application portal.

Students who receive a DPP offer are required to log on to the ITE application portal between 9.00 AM on 24 December 2018, and 3.00 PM on 27 December 2018 to accept or reject the DPP offer.

Students who do not have a confirmed place in the DPP should report to their secondary schools on 2 January 2019 for Secondary 5.

Application for the Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP)

The Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) is a diploma-specific foundation programme conducted over two academic semesters at the polytechnics. It caters to students in the N(A) course who have decided to pursue a polytechnic education and meet the PFP eligibility requirements at the end of Secondary 4. Applications for the PFP will open in January 2019, on the day of the GCE Ordinary (‘O’) Level Examinations results release. Students eligible for the PFP will receive a copy of Form P on the day of the release of their GCE ‘N’ Level examination results, inviting them to apply for the PFP.

Students interested in applying for the PFP should first start their Secondary 5 year on 2 January 2019, while awaiting notification of eligibility and confirmation of a place in the PFP.

Provision of Education and Career Guidance (ECG) services

After the release of the GCE N(A) Level and N(T) Level Examinations results, students may consult their teachers or ECG Counsellors in their respective secondary schools to help them make informed decisions about their next steps. Students can also refer to the MySkillsFuture website at http://bit.ly/myskillsfuture_secondary to find out more about the range of education and career pathways available to them. To complement the ECG services provided by schools, students and their parents may book an appointment with an ECG Counsellor at the ECG Centre at MOE (Grange Road) via 6831 1420, MOE_ECG@moe.gov.sg or http://bit.ly/moe_ecg. The MOE ECG Centre will be open from 10 to 29 December 2018, 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM.

Provision of School Computing Facilities for ITE/ DPP/ PFP Online Application

For your convenience, you may wish to note that for the online application of the ITE courses, the DPP (both application exercises open from 17 December 2018 at 2.30 PM until 20 December 2018 at 5.00 PM) or PFP (opening from the day of the GCE ‘O’ Level Examinations results release onwards, in January 2019), students may use the school’s computing facilities at either Computer Lab 4 (Blk H, Level 1) or School Library (Blk A, Level 3), between 9.00 AM and 4.00 PM. Students are to report at the General Office first, if they intend to use them.
