It was a fantastic Saturday morning well spent in school on 12 May 2018! Greendale Secondary School’s Parent Support Group organised the inaugural The Amazing Race, a parent-child bonding event. In this race, parents and their children form a team of 4-5 to complete tasks with clues hidden all around the school. Instead of the usual where adults generally take the lead, in this race, the children, one of whom is a student of Greendale Secondary School will take the lead to bring their team mates around the school to search for clues to complete the mission! A total of 9 teams participated and pit themselves against time that Saturday morning.
Briefing the participants before the start of the race
Family members worked together to solve the clues and we were blessed with good weather which allowed for all the outdoor activities to be conducted!
Looking at how each family bonded and worked together as a team to solve each clue so as to complete each station’s task, it was an AMAZING feeling!
Weeks of meticulous preparation for this event paid off when we saw the smiles and laughter on the participants’ faces.
After the exciting race, here are our winners (photos in no order of merit)!
A group photo together to end off the successful event!
The team who helped to put this event together! Thanks to the great team of PSG volunteers who helped to make this possible!
We are glad that everyone had fun and we definitely look forward to the next parent – child bonding event!
