Student Leaders’ Trek

On 26 August 2017, a group of Sec 3 students consisting of Student Councillors, CCA Leaders and Sports Leaders went on a trek as part of the School’s Level 4 leadership training programme.

The student leaders trekked from MacRitchie Reservoir all the way to Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. Along the way, there were ‘pitstops’ where they had to accomplish various tasks before continuing on their journey.

A Teambuilding Task in Progress

While it was physically demanding for some students, it was generally a fruitful and enjoyable trek. They had to work together to plan their route, and overcome the challenges along the way.

Re-sharpened, Primed & Ready!

This strengthened their teamwork and planning skills, and more importantly helped them have a better appreciation of servant leadership traits, such as Foresight and Conceptualization.

Emergency Preparedness Exercise – Evacuation to External Holding Area

The school conducted a fire drill on Tue, 29 Aug to familiarise staff and students with the evacuation procedure in the event of a fire outbreak. Students, staff and even school-based service providers responded to the alarm and evacuated via the designated routes to the assembly area in orderly manner.

Students of Secondary 1 were also introduced to the drill to evacuate to an external holding (EHA) area, which is located approximately 500m away from the school. This exercise prepares students for school emergency that renders the school unsafe for staff and students and, hence, the need to vacate the school premises.
