Greendale Secondary School’s 14th Honours Day was scheduled to take place on 17 April 2020. In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were not able to celebrate this awesome event with our students, parents, stakeholders and alumni like yourself. However, this did not stop us from pursuing and celebrating excellence. On 7 April 2020, the school commemorated our 14th Honours Day with all staff and students in distributed locations via YouTube Live. Teachers presented certificates, trophies and medals to prize winners in their respective classes. Yes, it was the very first Honour’s Day that was conducted in this manner in the school’s history.
The theme for our 14th Honours Day is “Lead with Care. Be the Difference.” The theme rallied us to stand up against adversity and to “lead with care [and] be the difference” in time of crisis And by continuing with the celebration, the school showcased its mettle to forge ahead.
We happy to share that our 2019 Graduating Cohort was the most outstanding value-adding student outcomes in our school’s history. The Co-Curricular Groups continued to excel with 3 Gold Awards by the Uniformed Groups, 3 Certificates of Distinction and 2 Certificate of Accomplishment by the Performing Arts Groups, Sports & Games Groups attaining National Schools Colours Awards, as well as top awards by Clubs and Societies, particularly the Robotics Club and ODAC.
This year, the Principal’s All Round Excellence Award is presented to Leigh Ann Mok Han Faye of Sec 4A2 2020. She is currently at Ngee Ann Polytechnic completing her Polytechnic Foundation Programme. Leigh Ann gives her best in all that she does and performed well at the GCE N-Level Examinations. Leigh Ann was also our Student Council Vice-President who served with a heart. She consistently demonstrated school values and even reached out to this year’s Secondary 3 students to share her experiences. Congratulations Leigh Ann! You deserve the award!
Though we are unable to invite you and your families back to Greendale for our 14th Honours Day due to the various safe management measures. We will bring our Honour’s Day to you. The school has arranged for certificate/s and medal/s to be delivered to your home. We have included a congratulatory letter by our Principal, Ms Amy Ng, and a booklet that contains the list of all the prize winners for the 14th Honour’s Day.
Congratulations once again!
We are also pleased to share that we will be celebrating our 15th Anniversary in 2021. Yes, we will be 15 yrs old next year! You can look forward to our 15th Anniversary celebrations, which will include a carnival in conjunction with the 15th Honours Day event as well as a home-coming event for all alumni!
Until we meet again, take care and stay safe.
